    The Polish Embassy in Tokyo organized a seminar entitled “Marie Sklodowska-Curie’s significance for an international cooperation in science and technology”.

    The seminar, conducted together with the Science Studio Marie on June 10th, was attended by Meguro City Assembly members and around 100 representatives of Japanese universities and scientific circles. Ambassador Cyryl Kozaczewski emphasized in his speech that Poland is proud of the great scientific discoveries of Maria Sklodowska Curie. He also referred to the fact that not only Polish but European scientists and researchers follow her example, and amaze the world with their creativity.

    Special guest of the seminar, Professor Akira Fujishima, the President of Tokyo University of Science and one of the main candidates for the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 2012 emphasized extraordinary significance of discoveries and research activities of Maria Sklodowska-Curie for science. He also pointed out that her  findings were the starting point for the development and modernization of many medical disciplines revolutionizing some of them completely.

    The seminar was not only an opportunity to present a rich legacy of Maria Curie Sklodowska but also provided the guests with an insight into the latest cutting edge solutions developed by Polish scientists which have been introduced in a publication entitled “New technologies - discover Poland”.
