    On 27th of November, 2014, a seminar on Clean Coal Technologies took place at the Institute of Industrial Science (the University of Tokyo). It was co-organized by the Embassy of Poland in Tokyo, and Japan Coal Energy Center (JCOAL).

    The seminar was attended by representatives of Polish and Japanese electric power companies (PGE, TEPCO, CEPCO), and researchers from AGH University of Science and Technology, and University of Tokyo. Also, guests from Poland had the opportunity to see the laboratories where scientists from aforementioned universities are carrying out their tests on Polish lignite coal.

     

    Lectures presented by senior guests mainly concerned Clean Coal Technologies, and possibilities of applying them in the Polish industry, as part of energy security policy and reduction of CO₂ emissions. Lecturers also elaborated on current results of the ongoing cooperative research project carried out by AGH and UT universities.
