    On July 25, 2019, the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Tokyo hosted a concert by the Chamber Choir of the Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz, that was preceded by a short piano recital by Mr. Paweł Wakarecy, the laureate of the 16th International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw. The concert was combined with a farewell meeting with the Ambassador of the Republic of Poland to Japan, Mr. Jacek Izydorczyk, who ended his mission in Japan on July 31, 2019.

    The first part of the concert consisted of a short recital performed by Mr. Paweł Wakarecy, a finalist of the 16th International Chopin Piano Competition and a winner of the highest prizes and distinctions in numerous national and international piano competitions. The performance commenced with Fryderyk Chopin's “Polonaise in A major Op. 40”, followed by the compositions: "Mazurka in G minor, Op. 24", "Polonaise in gis-moll, op. posth.", "Waltz in C sharp minor, op. 64 No. 2" and "Waltz in D flat major, Op. 64 No. 1".

    The second part of the concert consisted of an a cappella recital, during which the Chamber Choir of the Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz performed the choral compositions. The Chamber Choir was founded in 1986 on the initiative of Professor Janusz Stanecki. The members of the team are students of Departments: Conducting, Composition, Theory of Music and the Instrumental Department. The Choir is a winner of national and international choral festivals and competitions. The ensemble composed of forty people presented choral songs by Polish and international artists and was conducted by Mr. Janusz Stanecki and Ms. Magdalena Filipska.

    The musical evening was combined with the farewell meeting with the Ambassador of the Republic of Poland to Japan, Mr. Jacek Izydorczyk, who greeted the guests and thanked everyone for their cooperation during his mission in Japan. The concert was attended by representatives of the government administration in Japan, Japanese business, governmental and non-governmental organizations and representatives of the diplomatic corps. Afterwards, the guests were invited for a glass of wine, during which they had the opportunity to say goodbye to the Ambassador, Mr. Jacek Izydorczyk and take the commemorative photos.
