Twelve Polish companies exhibited their products at national booth prepared by National Office for Agriculture Support during 44th edition of FOODEX fair.

Ambassador Jacek Izydorczyk took part in the FOODEX opening ceremony in Makuhari Messe (Chiba Prefecture), which was attended by the record number of over 3500 exhibitors from 95 countries. The official opening was done by Japanese Vice-Minister for Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, Yasuhiro Ozato. Among invited guests one could see Jerzy Plewa, Directorate-General for Agriculture and Rural Development in European Commission.

On the first day of the fair, very popular among the visitors was the EU stand, where products from all member countries were presented. Products of Polish companies Lactima and Bakalland, already known to Japanese consumers, were also presented at the stand. At Polish stand, twelve companies exhibited their goods: dairy products, sweets, fish articles (caviar), drinks and dried fruits.

Welcoming Polish exhibitors, Ambassador Izydorczyk drew attention to the opportunities that the Economic Partnership Agreement between the EU and Japan creates for companies entering the Japanese market, and expressed hope for an increase in the presence of Polish products on the Japanese market in near future.

During all the days of the fair, visitors had the opportunity to taste the hot dishes of Polish cuisine prepared at the national stand by well-known and appreciated masters of culinary art in Poland.
