    Newly opened direct flights between Warsaw and Tokyo brings in new potential for bilateral relations

    It was the first visit to Japan by a representative of the Polish government which was formed in November 2015. Vice-Minister Domagalski-Łabędzki arrived in Tokyo on 14 January on board of the very first direct flight connecting Warsaw and Tokyo, accompanied by a group of Polish businesspeople, representatives of government institutions responsible for promotion of investment and tourism, as well as media. The connection between the two capitals has been established by Poland’s national carrier PLL “LOT”.

    During the visit, Vice-Minister Domagalski-Łabędzki met with his counterpart at the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, Mr Takayuki Ueda as well as leaders of Japan-Poland Parliamentary Friendship League in both chambers of the Diet, Mr Fukushiro Nukaga and Mr Hirofumi Nakasone. He also paid a visit to the Keidanren, Japan Business Federation, where he held talks with the co-chairman of the Commission for Europe, Mr Yoshio Sato.

    A number of events took place in Central Tokyo on the occasion of the visit. They included a seminar on doing business in Japan for Polish companies, an investment seminar and a reception inaugurating establishing of the direct flight connection between Warsaw and Tokyo.
