    Mr. Witold Bańka, Minister of Sport and Tourism of the Republic of Poland paid a three-day visit to Japan starting from February 20, 2019.

    During his stay in Tokyo, Minister Bańka held meetings with Mr. Shibayama - Minister of Education, Culture, Sport, Science and Technology, Ms. Ukishima - Deputy Minister of Education, Culture, Sport, Science and Technology, Mr. Nakasone – Chair of the Poland-Japan Parliamentary League of Friendship in the House of Councillors of the Japanese parliament and with the representatives of the Japan Anti-Doping Agency (JADA). During the visit, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the Ministry of Sport and Tourism of the Republic of Poland and the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sport, Science and Technology of Japan. The main aim of the visit was to strengthen exchanges and cooperation between Poland and Japan in the field of sports ahead of the Summer Olympics in Tokyo to be held in 2020. Another aspect of  the visit to Japan was to seek the support of Japanese counterparts for the candidacy of Minister Bańka for the Presidency of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA).
